Our School
Great Western Primary School has served the township of Great Western and the outlying rural communities since its establishment in 1867.
The school is a small rural school located only twelve minutes from Ararat and eight minutes from Stawell, approximately 215km from the CBD Melbourne.
It is a progressive rural school that provides a well-structured, nurturing and rich learning environment for all its students.
The school has exemplary facilities for its small team of dedicated teachers and students. Two learning centres operate at the school: Junior (Foundation - 3) and Senior (Year 4 - 6). The school is set amidst well established gardens and grounds.
The students enjoy outstanding facilities with recently refurbished buildings and new furnishings. Set amongst attractive, spacious and well maintained grounds the school provides a range of sporting facilities amongst established gardens.
